Gorgeous Bed & Breakfast
We had a lovely overnight stay while visiting River Cottage which is only about 20 minutes away. The room was great and the breakfast was as good as the food we had a la Hugh. Our hostess Kay was welcoming and so helpful. We forgot any wet weather gear and she called around to see which shop in the area had some cheap macs for us. Couldn’t fault Halsons, we will return if we are in the area again. PS. Excellent tea and homemade cake on arrival was a great touch.
Excellent Place to Stay
Room had lovely decoration. Bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have slept in. Bathroom was very modern, powerful shower. Nice touches were large soft towels, tea and cake on arrival. Excellent cooked breakfast. Made very welcome by owner. Would strongly recommend.
On my list of places to stay again!
Had a lovely 2 night stay here. Lovely room with a lovely view. Well thought out room layout as well. Lots of little things that make this place better than staying in a generic hotel. Flannels and cotton buds in the bathroom, wine glasses and bottle opener etc. I was a single traveller and Kay took the time to chat to me in the morning so it wasn’t weird being on my own! Conveniently located just off the main road but nice a quiet!
Much needed escape!
Decided on a last minute weekend break not too far from home and was delighted we chose to book this b&b. On arrival a warm welcome was received from Kay and we were shown to our room. The room was lovely and spacious with a very warm feel to it. The shower was a joy. We were then brought up tea, coffee and cake to our room which was a very nice touch. Kay even took the trouble to phone the pub we were visiting in the evening to see if we could be seated in her recommended area. After a pleasant evening out at the nearby pub we returned and enjoyed a very good night sleep in our very comfortable room. The following morning we were given a very enjoyable breakfast which consisted of good quality ingredients. This really makes a difference.
We cannot fault our stay and was really pleased with the effort that was put into our stay. We wish Kay and Julian the best of luck in the future and thank them for our stay.
